CD 9, HIGH

After a lonely and quiet Saturday, Javier surprised me by coming back home earlier than expected. I was so happy when I saw him, I actually cried.

Today was kinda our anniversary. We had our 1st official date 3 years ago today! How blessed I am to have the love of my life we me for life!

Anyway, we BD’d this morning to celebrate, and also, for the first time ever, I got a HIGH on CD9 which is really early, so maybe I won’t have so long to wait?

I still have a head cold, which wore me down for most of the day, but I’m happy…really happy!

CD 10, HIGH

I’m checking my monitor sticks (which you’re not meant to do!), just to watch how things are changing/progressing. It’s quite interesting, because the oestrogen line gets lighter the nearer to ovulation, and the LH gets darker. So today, my oestrogen is getting quite light but LH is not very dark.

Interesting.

As I had time on my hands today, I finally returned Yinka’s call. I half hoped she wouldn’t answer the call, being a Monday afternoon and all…but she did…at the second ring even.

“I was almost thinking you’re avoiding me!” she said, as soon as she answered.

“I’m so sorry…my husband and I were away for most of last week…” I offered lamely.

“Solape called me. How were you able to get her back in town?” Yinka asked.

“I wish I could take the credit for that, but that’s all your sister.” I answered honestly. “She just showed up the day before we left…”

Yinka sighed. “Well, I don’t even want to bother myself anymore. Thank God she is sha back here…and with the father of her child. How or why she did it, na she know!”

Exactly my sentiments!

CD 11, HIGH

I know I shouldn’t be looking at the sticks, but this morning’s oestrogen line was darker than the LOW reading, so I don’t know how I got a high?

Oh well, I don’t normally ovulate until CD 16 anyway. I just have to watch that we don’t over do the BD’ing, as I am determined to get a BD in on ovulation day, and the day after, as this is the one thing I noticed from my chart that we don’t seem to do.

I’ve still got this cold, and it’s making me sooo tired. I also have put on weight, which I am mega upset about, but have no energy to go and do anything about it. Ah well!

My addiction to temping is not quite sorted yet – I didn’t do it last month, and so far not this month, but I so nearly got my thermometer out to see if my temps were low and ready for ovulation, and then I remembered that it is mega hot at nights at the moment, and I also have this cold thing, so they’re not going to be helpful anyway.

I MUST RESIST!

CD 12, HIGH

As well as a headache from my cold (if it is a cold), I have a slight hangover from 2 pints of cider and a glass of wine at the pub quiz last night. No BD, as I got in a mood, but at least the sperm can have a rest!

Oh, and the whole family now knows about the Natalia and Keith’s impending divorce. It seems she hadn’t succeeded in getting him to change his mind about it, and they are proceeding with it. So, last night, she called her parents and siblings, individually, to tell them.

I have rarely ever seen my husband angry. He is one of the most even-tempered people I have ever met, but hearing about his sister’s broken marriage got him extremely emotional…and very, very angry. He remained calm whilst on the phone, but as soon as he got off it, yelled expletives and cursed out the man who had just broken his sister heart…after being together for more than half their lives. It was clear to everyone that Keith was tired of being held down as a family man, at so young an age, and wanted to spread his wings. I think that’s what made the news more difficult for the family to digest.

Later in the evening, I called Natalia, and was surprised at how calm she sounded. She told me she’d had enough time to get used to the idea of starting over, and was doing surprisingly fine. We ended the conversation with me promising to see her this weekend.

Divorce. May that never be my portion, in Jesus’ name!

CD 13, HIGH

Sticks looked more like a HIGH today. I also got a BD session in last night…so that was good.

Javier just had some really bad news – his friend’s wife has died after giving birth to a baby stillborn at 8months. She also left behind a young daughter. We don’t know any details yet, but another friend phoned and told us the funeral is on Tuesday. Javier is going to try and get the day off work.

I don’t even know them, but it’s just so tragic. I was trying not to cry when Javier told me. He’s had to go to work, but I can tell he was upset, and he hugged me really tight.

Life is so unfair, why do these awful things happen?
