Pilgrims Commission Boss Urges Women To Save Nigeria Spiritually And Socially

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC), Rev. Tor Uja, on Tuesday charged women in Nigeria to use their unique endowments to transform Nigeria spiritually and socially.

Uja made the call at the 2nd Strategic Consultative Women Meeting, ahead of the Grater Women Pilgrimage Convocation of the NCPC in Abuja.

“We believe that women possess the capacity to transform the nation both spiritually and socially.

“We believe in what women can do and achieve. Women pilgrimage should not be with a strike but with blessings.

“The plans that God has for the country can never be changed. God is unchanging in the object of his love and Nigeria is the object of his love.

According to Uja, Nigerian women may not be vibrant in the political arena but they have demonstrated a good sense of commitment to the Nigerian project.

Uja noted that women were instruments of development and the spiritual revival of any nation.

“Biblically, women are the developmental instruments that God uses.

He said there was need for women in Nigeria to be given a voice for them to make more positive contributions to nation building.

“We want them to have a vision and we want them to have opportunity to put into practice what God has created them for.’’

The cleric lauded the Federal Government for making sure that Nigeria was pulled out of recession, expressing his optimism that there would be an economic turnaround in the country.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the aim of the meeting was to mobilise and design a strategy of bringing women together for the upcoming convocation.
