  • Thank you for the reassurance that I didn’t do anything wrong and that South shore is a preferable option. They are actually slightly cheaper than Nordica and they have excellent customer service even though they didn’t reach out to me afterwards. Sometimes all a customer needs is that extra nudge

@bibi: All is getting better. An eye test is a standard test here for all kids and they do take it serious from age three and four if a kid should fail the test.

@Nicole and @Bosa: Thanks for reaching out. Its been a rough one since baby turned a year and hoping the stress and thoughts eases out as he ages.

As for potty training, I have decided…[Read more]

  • My dear Geraldine ( @geraldine ), first of all HUGE CONGRATS on your adoption hun. So happy for you dear, especially having gotten to the last stage. Please let us know when the LO arrives

Hmmmmm! I have so many feelings on what you’ve just shared. First of all, why anyone would recommend Nordica for anything is a mystery to me.…[Read more]

  • Mary ( @maryandrews ) , I totally agree that a lot of hospitals here are money minded. Nordica Ikoyi was like that for me.

As for the add-ons, it seems to really be the norm now. A close friend complained bitterly about a hospital I usually hold in high esteem. Intra lipids today, embryo scratch tomorrow. She’s been on a constant spending spree…[Read more]

  • Hello Ladies! So I’m back. I decided to take a break from the whole fertility thing and live. Meanwhile, I started an adoption process and currently close to the last stage. I revisited the issue of having the fibroids and scar tissue removed, I went to Southshore and after a few tests they concluded I go for a laparoscopic myomectomy. I decided…[Read more]

  • Thanks Nicole. I was told that I’m not a candidate for DHEA because my ovarian reserve is high. My AMH results have been consistently high and I have almost hyperstimulated on virtually all my cycles ( 3 out of 4). So I have good quantity, and if you ask me, I believe my egg quality is not as bad as the clinic wants me to believe. I feel they need…[Read more]

  • @maryandrews I agree with @nicole a combined cycle may be great! It is good to have all available options to achieve our quest to motherhood. I was on DHEA for some months, you could also try that out. There’s an article on this blog on how to boost egg quality so please start that 6-9months before your next cycle.

  • My apologies for the late response, Mary ( @maryandrews ) . I missed this somehow. Sometimes, there is no explanation to the drop in quality of our eggs. My friend’s first cycle, she had perfect eggs. But she’s had to use donor eggs with the last one. Another friend here on the site had her first child easily, but now her egg quality is so bad,…[Read more]

@pearl hun, so sorry to read you’ve been struggling. Nothing mild about depression. If you need to talk, I’m only a phone call away. Sending you big hugs hun

Aww bless. Pre school already. That’s such a sign of independence. It should also give you more time for yourself. As for potty training, oh boy! I’m not looking forward to going…[Read more]

Just getting better after a mild depression.

Prince is doing fine and looking forward to enrolling him in a pre-school after going for an eye test when he is two. We are also struggling in potty training. Boys love to play with pee and everything; they hardly take things serious. :growlmad:

  • Well, for now the clinic is still diagnosing us as unexplained, but I am seeing a trend with the number of eggs (20 to 25) ending up with so few (3 grade B or C) embryos in the last two cycles. My first cycle I had 18 eggs and 2 grade A, 2 grade B and maybe another 5 that I can’t remember their grades. I had the first cycle in one clinic and the…[Read more]

  • Mary ( @maryandrews ) dear, I don’t have too good an opinion of the clinic as my cousin had a bad experience with them a few years ago. Rather than cancel her cycle when they saw that she wasn’t responding properly, they went through with it even though there was only 1 embryo left to transfer. I personally think they are too business minded.

    But…[Read more]
