On the blood pressure @nicole: 130/80mmHg is the new high, Stage 1 hypertension.
What was known before as hypertension 140/90mmHg is now stage 2 and maybe considered as crisis level if higher, anything higher than 180/120mmHg is urgency. The new pre- is now 120-129/80mmHg and normal is less than 120/80mmHg.
Many people all around the world are already falling into stage 1 and my mind is telling me it might be a strategy for big pharma. **Let me just shut up.**
@pearl, I definitely smell big pharma! If 130/80 is the new stage 1, then I wonder how they will classify people like my brother-in-law for whom 160/100 is normal. He’s on constant meds and is prone to excessively high BP. I think 130/80 is a flag, yes, but definitely not stage 1.
