Hello Dr Simi. Just joined the group. I have been trying to conceive for over 5 years after the birth of my first child. Last year I discovered I had ovarian cyst which was removed with the ovary. I thought my chance to conceive should be high after the surgery, but am yet to conceive. Please what’s your advice.

    Thanks, Bimbo.

    Hi Bimbo,

You should still be able to conceive with one ovary with minimal problems.Chances of conceiving after oophorectomy are not higher but the functioning ovary should do just fine.It is worth getting an ovarian scan and checking that you’re ovulating with a blood test though.

    Good luck!

    Thanks Dr. Simi.
