Family is not an important thing; it is everything- Actor, Micheal J Fox
I recently watched a short clip of Pepsico president, Indra Krishnamurthy Nooyi, circulating on social media, where she shared how she had come home one day with the news of having been appointed the president of Pepsico, and her mother had told her to go out and get milk for the family.
Shocked, she asked her mother if she understood the importance of her news. I loved the answer her mom gave her, even though I felt frustrated by it. Can’t somebody have a break sef? “Go and drop your crown in the garage. In here, you are a wife, a daughter and a mother. No one else can take on those roles like you can,” was Indra’s mother’s response. She credited that response as what keeps her grounded like nothing else does.
Another proof that family is golden was seen recently, as Nigerian born actor, John Boyega, who starred in the latest Star Wars movie, The Last Jedi, stepped on the red carpet at the London premiere of the movie with his entire family. His reason? He said he wanted to show the world his family.
A lot of celebrities have credited their families with keeping them grounded and focused on the things that are important. So, today, the spotlight is on the families of celebrities.
Let’s enjoy it.
For someone, who has been banned from sharing pictures of his wife and family, veteran actor, Richard Mofe Damijo can push his luck at times, as it was with this picture.
He captioned the photo; “Leader of my squad• Partner in everything• My ride, die and ride again.”
