One of my favourite celebrity moms is Chrissy Teigen, and it is all because of how real she is about the whole motherhood thingy, no hiding behind any façade and making it seem as if celebrity moms had super powers…the struggle is real everywhere.
One of her most relatable breastfeeding moment for me was when she rode a rollercoaster with full breasts. In the funny picture which she posted on social media, Chrissy was seen holding onto her breasts as though it was a life line, but surely, mothers, who have had full breasts, know the pain that can come if she dared let go of her breasts and flair her hands in the air like some of her partners on the ride did.
For today’s post, I will be looking at celebrity moms getting real about this controversial subject matter, whether they found breastfeeding to be a walk in the park, a herculean task, were plagued with mom guilt, and every other emotion breastfeeding ultimately triggers in a mom.
Of course, I will be starting with funny mama, Chrissy Teigen.
One month after welcoming her first child, Luna, with husband, John Legend, Chrissy told a late night show host that the most surprising things about new motherhood was the feeding schedule, and moms everywhere welcome her happily to the club. Motherhood comes with many surprises.
She said “The feeding schedule surprised me a lot. If you kind of do the math, you’re kind of breastfeeding for 10 hours a day total,” she said, adding,
“It’s very loving and sweet, but it’s not easy. It’s hard to work your entire day around getting her the nourishment she needs because [babies] are just little animals.”
Hard work or not, little animals or not, Chrissy and her husband are already talking about baby number 2.
