I have a number of theories about why my 1st IVF cycle failed. One of these revolves around the quality of my eggs that cycle. Even though I don’t think they were too bad, I do think I could have done more to enhance their quality. For my 2nd cycle, in addition to Pregnacare Conception, I made sure I stocked up on proteins, notably lots of eggs (cholesterol warning though…lol!). I also took a teaspoon of raw honey every day (I have no idea where I got this idea, but I guess it all must have worked). Lastly, I lost a lot of weight and exercised at least 3 times a week, for an hour each time.
Those are my own tips. The more conventional ways to improve egg quality include:
- Taking such dietary supplements as Bee Pollen, Royal Jelly, and Vitamin C
- Making long term dietary changes, by including more vegetables, whole grains, seeds, nuts, and fruit in your diet. Lean meat and dairy products should be taken in moderation. Processed foods should be avoided as best as possible, as they do not provide all the nutrients whole foods contain.
- Daily exercise
- Restricting calorie intake
- Staying as stress free as possible. Constant tension depletes the body’s resources. If the body lacks resources, egg production will suffer, with quality diminishing over time.
