Brief Medical history (forgot to add) – DH has low sperm count and I have one blocked Fallopian tube so IVF was the option given to us.

Hi Everyone, just joined and really loving the stories and support from members. Been TTC for 5 years now. Did IVF 2015 which didn’t work at ST Ives (not a good experience). Did another IVF at Mart (really good experience) last month. Had a :bfp: but pregnancy did not progress (chemical). I still have some embryos that have been frozen. I was…[Read more]

    • Welcome to our family, dear @noredia :friends: :friends: . So sorry about the chemical pregnancy hun, but great news about the frozen embryos :cold: :cold: . MART and this their detox sha. Personally, I’m not sure about the benefit of this, and think it’s just a way to make money…but that’s just me. I believe that with clean eating and a…[Read more]

      • Hello Noredia, @noredia, somehow, I’m not surprised at your experience at St Ives but sad.
And so sorry about your chemical pregnancy :hugs: :hugs: Thank God, you have got embie babies. You can detox, if you want to but like Nicole said, clean eating should do the magic.

      • Hi @nicole @oluwakemi. Thanks for the warm welcome. Glad to be on board. Yes oh, thank God for the frozen embies, I’m so happy about that. To answer your questions – I’m not yet sure when I’ll do the transfer. I did a blood test with Mart last week called Immune panel test (any idea or advise on the test) and they said it’s very high and that…[Read more]

Welcome to our awesome community @thisyrismyyr :rose:
So sorry you had to go through all this, loads of ladies here with lots of experience to tap from.
Wishing you loads of success in the future cycle… :dust:

    • Tayo @thisyrismyyr hun, so sorry you had to go through all that. Sending you massive e-hugs hun. Why was the 1st inconclusive? Was it poor response? Please don’t despair over the tubes hun. I know it hurts, but thank God for other solutions that will surely bring you your baby :hugs: :hugs: . Where did you cycle each time?

      • Bridge clinic. For my next cycle I want to try some one else . Not sure which to should go for . I prefer somewhere not too far ikeja. Confused

        • Hmmm, Tayo @thisyrismyyr . The only other one I would recommend in that vicinity is MART. It’s also quite good.

          • Thank u . .will visit there again. I have been there once . That was before I settled for the bridge .i was just not convinced. Fusion nest has been calling me incessantly to come visit them . A friend recommended olive branch . Me I just want a good result

            • Tayo @thisyrismyyr hun. For some reason, Fusion Nest didn’t quite appeal to me. I wouldn’t entirely recommend it, to be honest. If you don’t mind the island, Olive Branch is definitely a good one. Same as The Ark (in Dolphin Estate). Their doctors are excellent and treatment is top of the range.

@diana hun, I know too well about weekend weight gain. That used to be my weakness too. I’d do so well during the week, only to ruin it all. Yes, it takes discipline but it also helps to have alternatives you really like. That’s the good thing about KETO. Nice, tasty meals that actually help you lose weight. I could share with some recipes with…[Read more]

  • You can survive the weekend @diana, your discipline will get you through. :bodyb:

It’s just so easy to pile on the weight post baby, mostly because you have got your hands full, minding every one a else’s business.  You are doing great though. :good:

@ Oluwakemine, I have a long way to go to reach my ideal BMI!! I’m ashamed to say I allowed myself get to 105kg post baby. Just didn’t know what to do to stop the weight!! For now I have a target of 85kg. If I can achieve that then I intend to aim for another 10 kg.

But for now…did my weekly weight check and alas just a couple of units to 96kg.…[Read more]

  • Bravo @diana, that’s huge.    And even better that your cycle is regulating itself :plane: . How many more KGs are you looking to lose to get to your ideal BMI?

  • Nicole replied to the topic Getting to know you! in the forum Group logo of Getting to know you!Getting to know you! 3 months ago

@diana hun, 8kg is awesome! Good for you! And so glad it’s regulated your cycle. You’ll see that the more weight you lose, the more in sync your cycle will be. Being at a good weight before seeing your doctor is definitely the wise thing to do

We’re here cheering you all the way!

Thank you @Nicole for the warm welcome. Lost a total of 8kg as at last week but it’s not been easy as I have had to cheat a day every week. But the good news is for the first time in 3.5 years (since the birth of my son) I actually had a 29 day cycle as opposed to the average of about 45-80 days previously!!! So I guess I must be doing something…[Read more]

@nicole. Oh My!!!! That Keto thing ain’t never gon work for me. Hehehehe. Oh well. My plans to reduce my sugar intake is going well. Managing my weight and all. But I’m most concerned about getting my first period for the year. Been really worried bout that. Looking into hormone therapy treatments to stabilize them hormones.

    • Hi @missirregularversion, glad to hear, you are bringing your sugar cravings under control, however I would suggest an enhanced lifestyle changes before the hormone therapy… if you have the time. True, Keto isn’t for everyone but it helps a lot, if one can stick to it.

      • Okay ma would definitely give it a shot. I have started to balance with plant protein, lesser carbs, more fruits and veggies so hopefully I’ll get on track. Started spotting 3days ago but no real period in sight. Oh my don’t I have the most obnoxious bfp SYMPTOMS!!!!! Oh well. Not getting my hopes up and NOT checking either.

        • Eneyi @missirregularversion, no worries, don’t get your hopes up but I will have them in the sky on your behalf ;-) Do you always spot like this? And you are making real progress with your lifestyle changes. :good: :good:
          cc: @nicole

          • Yeah I guess making progress. I notice I feel lighter and thinner around the waist. That should be a good sign. Well I always spot before my period but for a day max. I don’t want to think about it but this kinda looks like (IB) to me. Still waiting to see what it turns out to be.

    • @missirregularversion hun, what kind of hormone treatments are you on? And I used to think I could never do KETO but I surprised myself. Try it hun. So many success stories about how it has helped women regulate their cycles. Or even if not KETO, try to eliminate white carbs from your diet. Can you manage?

      • I definitely can!!! And I will!!! I honestly can’t stand all those hormonal meds they drive me nuts. I guess I let myself get desperate for a bit. Let’s see where this spotting leads. I’ll keep you updated
